The Race against Hunger is a solidarity event that brings together hundreds of thousands of pupils every year throughout France and abroad. In 2017, more than 280,000 pupils from 1,300 schools participated in this project in more than fifty French and international cities. The goal: expend your energy and excel to help people who are hungry. Pupils line up at the start line of their school’s Race Against Hunger. Everyone does their best and runs a maximum of kilometres to support our projects.
2 main waves of activity
The awareness session – March – April 2018
An Action Against Hunger representative comes to your school to educate your pupils about the problem of hunger in the world. This year, pupils will find out about the daily lives of displaced families in camps in Iraqi Kurdistan. At the end of the session, each pupil goes out looking for sponsors who promise him/her a donation per kilometre covered on the day of the race.
The race – Friday, May 18, 2018
Pupils line up at the start line of their school’s Race Against Hunger. Everyone does their best and runs a maximum number of kilometres to support our projects. After the race, each pupil multiplies each donation pledge by the number of kilometres run and goes back to his/her sponsors to ask for their donation. The donations collected during this race will fund our programs in Iraq.
