A CHARITY RACE FOR ACTION CONTRE LA FAIM
The Race Against Hunger is the most important school charity event in the calendar! Each year, more than 260,000 pupils from 1,300 schools take part in this project all over France and further afield, all in an effort to join us in our fight against hunger.
The aim: to give their all to help people suffering from hunger.
After an awareness-raising session on the causes of hunger, the pupils have to find sponsors and get as many people as possible involved in this active, dynamic, public-spirited project. On the big day, each pupil does their very best. It doesn’t matter whether they walk or run. The aim is to cover as many kilometres as possible to support our projects.
RUNNING FOR A GOOD CAUSE
This year, the money raised by the pupils funded our projects and helped us to combat world hunger in places like Bangladesh.
In 2022, over 2.8 million euros was raised, funding our programmes in countries like Ivory Coast and Madagascar. This year, the pupils are keen to beat this record!
CALLING ALL SCHOOLS: GET INVOLVED!
All state and private schools in France and French schools abroad can organise and take part in a Race Against Hunger.
Action contre la Faim offers schools projects that fit in with the curriculum and suit all ages (from primary school to sixth form). We will support you throughout the project, and even afterwards!
This is a unique opportunity to bring together pupils, staff and families around a meaningful project.

HOW DO I ORGANISE A RACE AGAINST HUNGER?
We provide you with the tools to set up your race and support you throughout the year.
Upon registration:
- Access to the coordination area and to all the digital tools that will help you to organise your project
- The event information poster
- A few copies of Action, the association’s quarterly magazine
To raise awareness among pupils:
- Awareness-raising session led by an Action contre la Faim staff member
- Educational film highlighting our work in Bangladesh
- Map of the countries where the association operates
- Educational resources to assist with awareness-raising
- One fundraising booklet per pupil, to help them to find sponsors
The day of the race:
- A banner and barricade tape
- 6 T-shirts for the organisers
- 1 stick-on race number per pupil
After the race:
- Posters to thank the pupils
- Start of the next school year: A summary of the projects funded thanks to the Race Against Hunger
