WHAT IS A DELEGATION?

A delegation is a team made up of volunteers led by a delegate (also a volunteer) who acts as a spokesperson for Action contre la Faim for their département. Delegations report to the headquarters in France and can carry out advocacy, fundraising and awareness-raising activities all year long. They meet every month to set out the next local initiatives to carry out. They are supported by a dedicated team at the headquarters and benefit from training that is adapted to their needs.

WHAT IS A DELEGATION’S MISSION?

A delegation’s main mission is to support Action contre la Faim’s activities on the ground financially by leading fundraising projects (sports, educational or cultural events, business partnerships, etc.). To do so, the delegation spreads the word about the association locally and raises awareness among the public. They also act as the association’s liaison with opinion leaders (media, businesses, local elected representatives, etc.).

VOLUNTEERING FOR ACTION CONTRE LA FAIM: WHAT CAN I DO?

Our volunteers play an active part in organising and developing important annual events like the Challenge Against Hunger and the Race Against Hunger. Depending on the delegation, they may also organise sports events such as Colour Runs, hikes, cycles, Surf Against Hunger, charity basketball matches, yoga sessions or even Zumba.

Our volunteers also organise cultural events, including dance shows, plays and even concerts involving all kinds of music from rock and pop to gospel!

In 2019, our volunteers were present at various festivals (like Solidays) and one-off charity events to raise awareness of the causes of hunger and support our programmes.

At Action contre la Faim, we are proud of our network of volunteers. Thanks to them, in 2019, we organised more than 200 events!
