Evaluating Mental health and Psychosocial needs and resources of vulnerable populations facing humanitarian crises remains complex and challenging.
Enquiring about people’s needs and resources is a prerequisite to any programme implementation, to be able to design the intervention strategy and adapt activities to the local context. In order to strengthen the capacity of field teams, Action contre la Faim has developed this practical step-by-step guide to assess Mental health, Psychosocial, Protection and Care Practices needs and resources in any humanitarian and low-resources setting. It provides all necessary practical information, from gathering data prior to the field assessment, to the analysis and dissemination of findings. It aims to determine the best ways to organize and conduct a structured and efficient field assessment, which will ultimately inform about the most appropriate programmes and services to be delivered.
