FST Consortium Biannual Report 2022–2023
The Field Support Team (FST) is one of the main mechanisms utilized by the Global WASH Cluster to deliver operational support to National Coordination Platforms in Cluster Coordination, Information Management and assessments.
The FST is a project run by a Consortium of agencies, led by ACF France and includes iMMAP Inc., IMPACT and OXFAM. The FST provides support through surge deployments, Remote Support and Global Support to the National Coordination Platforms.
This report presents the achievements of the Field Support Team over 2022-2023, a period marked by numerous global crises, including cholera outbreaks in Kenya and Malawi, the earthquake in the Middle East, armed conflicts in Ukraine, Sudan and in the State of Palestine, and protracted crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), to mention just some. The provision of the FST surge support for coordinating humanitarian responses in these contexts has been beneficial especially when local capacities were overstretched and unable to cope with the intensity of the escalating crises.
Building upon the support delivered in 2021, which included 20 deployments across 12 countries, the Field Support Team has demonstrated its ability to enhance operational support efforts during the 2022– 2023 timeframe. This period saw the project extend its reach to 15 countries by conducting 28 deployments and responding to requests of Remote Support coming from 26 countries.
