In delegations
Delegations meet once a month between September and June, often at the Maison des Associations, in an association hall, a room lent by their local town hall, etc.
The delegations’ missions are to raise funds through events of their choice, raise awareness among their target audiences (elected representatives, businesses, the general public, schoolchildren, etc.), and engage in advocacy!
Run awareness-raising sessions in schools
A 4-hour training course is planned for volunteers, and a teaching kit is available to ensure that awareness-raising sessions run smoothly.
No, awareness campaigns take place from late February to early April, depending on the region and school vacations.
Couse contre la Faim, Drawing contre la Faim, an educational exhibition for youngsters on the impact of our consumption habits and/or our purchases… are all projects that can be adapted according to needs and possibilities.
A session lasts 50 minutes (the time of a lesson) and when we visit a school, we carry out several sessions (4 to 6 on average) depending on the number of classes enrolled in the Course contre la Faim project.
The project is open to schools from primary to secondary level.
Ideally, two people visit each school in pairs, so that they can take turns speaking, alternating sessions and/or supplementing each other’s words, answering students’ questions, etc.
In 50 minutes, we introduce ourselves, talk about ACF, why we’re here, ACF’s activities, with a country presentation (each year a different country is honored), a film presenting the current year’s country, the issues, the causes of hunger and the solutions proposed by ACF. Finally, the session concludes with the Race Against Hunger project and how students will be involved in it.
An employee in charge of the project is present in each academy. We don’t have anyone in the overseas territories, but a correspondent takes over and sends out the necessary documents.
It’s possible! The minor’s guardians must sign an attestation authorizing the person to become a volunteer.
Challenge against Hunger
ID-Day set-up, secretariat, collection of participants’ numbers, encouragement on the course, signposting, etc. are just some of the missions offered by the Challenge!
