How to make a donation to an association?
With a donation, discover an even more effective way of supporting us. To express your sense of solidarity during your lifetime, you can make a donation to our association. Such a gesture of generosity is not a donation like any other. It’s a testimony to the values you hold dear and the mark you wish to leave. It is also a precious resource that will enable us to take even more effective action to help the most vulnerable populations, on your behalf.
Why make a donation to our association?
Making a donation to our association is a simple way of giving immediate support to the millions of women, men and children around the world who suffer from acute malnutrition and the repercussions of crises of all kinds. This is the case for Frank, who has decided to pass on his studio :
“Over the years, I’ve become increasingly sensitive to the issue of world hunger. For me, the desire to help the poorest of the poor is first and foremost what it means to be human in the 21st century. It means thinking about gestures such as bequests or living donations to humanitarian organizations. Personally, I also wanted to simplify my life, no longer having to manage year-round tenants or meet the obligations of a landlord.
I thought of the Action contre la Faim association because it seems to me that, before needing to be cared for, or to be accompanied in old age, or even to be housed, one must have access to food”.

How to make a donation to a non-profit organization?
A donation is a notarial deed by which you make a gift of property to a beneficiary of your choice. The donation takes effect immediately, as soon as the deed is signed at the notary’s office, and is irrevocable. It is subject to the same constraints as a bequest: the amount of your gift must not reduce the share of any heirs who have a right to the property. However, the latter can choose in advance to renounce the share to which they are legally entitled.
What are the different types of donation?
Full ownership
A donation is a simple way of passing on part of your estate to Action contre la Faim during your lifetime. It must be drawn up by a notary, is irrevocable and offers tax advantages. Recognized as a charitable organization, Action contre la Faim is exempt from transfer duties. There are several types of donation:
A donation of full ownership consists in the immediate donation of a property, a painting, a classic car or other type of assets.
Temporary donation of usufruct
A temporary donation of usufruct allows you to give the use and usufruct of a property over a given period of 3 to 10 years, with the advantage of temporarily removing the property from your estate. During this period, you benefit from attractive tax advantages. In the case of real estate, the asset is no longer taxable.
Our advice: As with any contract, a valid donation requires the capacity of both donor and donee. To be valid, the donation must be recorded in a notarial deed. However, a notary’s involvement is optional in the case of a manual donation, which involves the donor simply handing over the donated property without any formalities.
Bare ownership donations
A bare-ownership donation enables you to transfer ownership of a property while retaining its use for yourself or a third party. This donation offers a number of tax advantages, notably the end of property tax liability for the ex-owner who becomes the usufructuary. The bare owner does not enjoy the property, and only regains full ownership when the usufruct expires.
