To conduct an operational analysis of WASH coordination transition models and develop practical recommendations to strengthen National Coordination Platforms in the context of the Humanitarian Reset.

The Field Support Team (FST) (https://www.washcluster.net/fst) is the Global WASH Cluster’s surge and remote support mechanism, providing operational assistance to National WASH Coordination Platforms in humanitarian contexts.

As part of the Humanitarian Reset, the Global WASH Cluster is recruiting a senior consultant to undertake a three-month operational research assignment on the evolution of humanitarian coordination models. The consultancy will identify effective coordination transition pathways, compare operational approaches across different humanitarian contexts and develop practical recommendations to strengthen National Coordination Platforms.

The research will examine Area-Based Coordination, localization, multisectoral coordination, engagement of nationally rooted actors, financing arrangements and collaboration with development partners.

We are looking for a senior consultant with demonstrated experience in humanitarian coordination, operational research and strategic analysis. The consultancy will be primarily home-based, with limited international travel if required, from mid-September to December 2026.
