Action Against Hunger has been reaching the vulnerable with cash to improve livelihoods since 2010. In a bid to continue to reach out to vulnerable individuals and communities during this challenging time, our food security and livelihood team was in Katarko Ward in Gujbah local government area.
Ensuring that our communities are armed with the right information in preparation to prevent the spread and help save lives in the light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, while we keep the rest of our lifesaving programs ongoing – monthly cash disbursement at katarko ward for food against hunger and malnutrition. Towards improved food and nutrition security of conflict affected persons in the North Eastern, Nigeria, Yobe state.
“I will never forget the days, when I wake up with no food in my house because I had no source of livelihood. Action Against Hunger, identified me and since I started receiving cash disbursement I am able to purchase millet, sorghum, cowpea and groundnut to feed my children. I will forever remain grateful to Action Against Hunger for food and information to help us improve our nutrition and hygiene practices.” Aji Baitu, father of 7 children in Katarko.
