Participatory action research on cassava-groundnut intercropping system

Action Against Hunger Sierra Leone Country Office and Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) conducted a participatory action research with farmers and Agriculture Extension Workers to evaluate the efficacy of cassava-groundnut intercropping systems as a sustainable and profitable innovation for climate change adaptation and mitigation in Sierra Leone.

The general objective of the action is to contribute to increased crop productivity, farmers’ adaptability to and mitigation of climate change through sustainable land management in cassava-groundnut based intercropping systems. The project is consistent with climate change policy of Sierra Leone.

The project was funded by the European Union through Expertise France under the supervision of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
