MY ACTION CONTRE LA FAIM

TODAY, SOME 735 MILLION PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FROM HUNGER ACROSS THE WORLD.¹ PUPILS EVERYWHERE, FROM PRIMARY SCHOOL TO SIXTH FORM, WANT TO TAKE PART IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER TO ELIMINATE THIS INJUSTICE.

A CHARITY ACTIVITY KIT TO BRING YOUR PROJECT TO LIFE

Perhaps you have thousands of ideas, every one more creative than the last, or maybe you don’t know where to start. That’s why we have prepared a charity activity kit for all school years to guide you and bring your charity projects to life.

‘My Action contre la Faim’ is a kit that contains ideas of ways to act, practical tips for setting up your project, awareness-raising materials and communication tools, so that you can organise your project in your school with ease. It also involves support throughout the process through an Action contre la Faim Youth representative.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• Choose your project and build an enthusiastic team to help you organise it (school council, representatives, a particular class or a group of volunteers).
• Find a member of staff willing to support you throughout the project. You can ask a teacher, school counsellor, teaching assistant or another member of staff.
• Contact Action contre la Faim’s Youth representative for your region, and they will approve your project and register it.
• You will receive the materials and access to the online area reserved for pupils taking part in this initiative. This includes the instructions for your project and other tools necessary for organising it.
• Carry out the project. Talk about it to those around you and give yourself the best chance of success by spreading the word about your project inside and outside your school.
• Evaluate the project. Once the event is over, thank the participants and send the money you have raised to Action contre la Faim.

RAISE AWARENESS OR MONEY, IT’S UP TO YOU!

Raise awareness of the problem of hunger among pupils:

• By leading the role-playing game ‘Tomate Impact’, to find out more about the main causes of hunger and the links between food, production, climate and hunger.
• By proposing the online platform ‘Je m’engage contre la Faim’ so that pupils can play the role of a journalist, research the issue of hunger and set off into the field to discover our activities.

Organise a charity event and raise money for Action contre la Faim: a sports challenge, a stand, a show, a piece of art.

If you can’t decide, you can combine all of the above.

By taking part in ‘My Action contre la Faim’ you are getting behind a great cause and taking part in the enriching experience of solidarity. It is also a chance to give your school a common goal and come together to assist people suffering from hunger. With this solidarity project, you can let your imagination run wild and harness your talents while developing new skills.

This mobilisation can also be included in the pupils’ Parcoursup (sixth form) and common grounding (secondary school) files.
