The Foundation Action against Hunger
Scientific expertise to fight hunger
Founded in 2013 under the auspices of the Institut de France, the Action Against Hunger Foundation for Research and Innovation aims to eradicate hunger by deepening our understanding of the causes and treatment of undernutrition.
Scientific research is thus part of a broader effort to improve the quality of Action Against Hunger’s field interventions. Working closely with its teams:
- Action Against Hunger’s programs are adapted for more effective and sustainable management, particularly in the areas of nutrition and health.
- A solid evidence base is built in response to societal, political, economic, and environmental changes.
- Innovative ideas can be tested.
- The results of our experts’ research strengthen our advocacy with key stakeholders at both national and international levels.
As the Foundation is authorized to receive donations, you can choose to direct yours toward scientific research. In this case, 75% of your donation is deductible from your Real Estate Wealth Tax (IFI).
Scientific expertise as a strategic development area
Today, our research projects have specific objectives: improving the management and prevention of undernutrition, as well as enhancing response and preparedness for humanitarian emergencies. These projects are structured around three main areas:
- Identifying effective preventive approaches against undernutrition.
- Identifying scalable methods for effective undernutrition treatment.
- Identifying tools for emergency response and preparedness.

If the net taxable value of your real estate assets equals or exceeds €1.3 million, you are liable for the IFI, which replaced the Solidarity Wealth Tax. The Foundation offers you the opportunity to combine generosity with tax benefits. 75% of your gift to the Foundation is deductible from your IFI, up to a limit of €50,000. A tax receipt will be sent to you by mail or email if the gift is made online.
To reduce your IFI to zero, use the following calculation:
IFI amount / 0.75 = gift amount
If you are not liable for the IFI, 66% of your gift to the Foundation is deductible from your Income Tax (IR).
Tax benefits under IFI and IR are not cumulative. However, you may deduct part of your gift from your IFI and the other part from your IR.
Unlike IR gifts, IFI gifts cannot be carried forward over 5 years.
