Today, 673 million people worldwide still suffer from hunger. While this number is not increasing, it is dangerously stagnant, according to the latest State of Food Insecurity in the World (SOFI) report.

Our teams, who have been working for 45 years to fight undernutrition, are witnessing the crises that are exacerbating this situation. The causes include conflicts, climate disasters, price increases, and pandemics, all of which have occurred in recent years :

The war in Ukraine, in addition to devastating the country and claiming thousands of lives, is having a terrible impact on global food security. Hunger is spreading day by day in countries that are already highly vulnerable, whose wheat supplies depend on Ukraine and Russia. This dramatic situation, exacerbated by rising prices, raises fears that the situation will worsen in certain countries that are already very fragile in terms of food security.

Population movements in camps, where living conditions are often precarious and access to humanitarian aid difficult, as is the case in Sudan, are also a very good example. Millions of people there face extreme shortages of food and basic resources.

Recent climate disasters such as the floods in Libya, the earthquake in Turkey/Syria, and the drought in West and Central Africa highlight the growing vulnerability of certain regions of the world. The climate crisis is plunging millions of people into situations of extreme vulnerability, depriving them of water, food, and basic hygiene products.

As every year, our dearest wish is that everyone in the world has enough to eat. We will continue this fight until it becomes a reality. During this holiday season, let us unite so that all these women, men, and children can have hope for a better future.

For organizations such as Action contre la Faim, the end of the year is essential for securing resources and continuing their work. According to « Le Baromètre de la Générosité 2024 » published by France Générosités, 40% of donations are made at the end of the year, with more than half of these coming in December alone.

How can you donate money online ? 

Making a donation online is quick and easy: visit our secure website, fill out the donation form, and choose your payment method.

Your donation will be processed immediately and your tax receipt will be sent to you as soon as possible, depending on the payment method you have chosen:

• For one-time donations by credit card, PayPal, or instant bank transfer, you will receive your tax receipt by email within an hour of submitting the form.
• For one-time donations by check, you will receive your tax receipt 8 to 10 days after the check has cleared.
• For monthly donations by credit card or direct debit, you will receive your tax receipt during the first quarter of the following year, in time for your annual tax return (if you reside in France).

How can you donate your meal vouchers ?

Did you know that you can also donate your meal vouchers to support Action contre la Faim ? If you have a meal voucher card (Upcoop, Swile, Bimply, Pluxee, etc.), you can use it to make an online donation.

This Christmas, make a donation by visiting our secure website. Choose the amount you wish to donate, up to a limit of 25€ per day, and select your preferred meal voucher payment method. If you have a Swile card, you can even exceed this daily limit and donate any amount you choose ! 

You can also send us your paper meal vouchers !

Convert your meal vouchers into a donation before the end of the year and receive a tax deduction. Each donation made using meal vouchers entitles you to a tax deduction of 75% of the amount donated.

How can you create a fundraising campaign and encourage your friends and family to get involved ? 

You are sure that Action contre la Faim needs your support, but want to get your friends and family involved too ? Create an online fundraising page and invite them to join you in a shared act of solidarity. This way, you can raise awareness of a cause that is important to you and collect donations that will have a significant impact in the fight against hunger.

When you create your fundraiser, you can explain your motivations and remind people of the importance of solidarity during the holiday season. Each donation from your family and friends also entitles them to a 75% reduction in their income tax and a tax receipt to declare to the tax authorities.

In 2024, 88.2% of our spending was allocated to our social missions in our areas of operation to help those most in need.
