SECURITY AND SAFETY

As a major stakeholder in the humanitarian aid sector, Action Against Hunger pilots 20 field missions in various geographical environments with increasingly complex contexts.

In 2019, we invested in new resources to strengthen our capacity to deal with the constant changes in the various intervention contexts, in order to reach the most vulnerable populations and guarantee their access to the most essential services, in accordance with humanitarian principles. 

Depending on whether you are based at headquarters or in the field, you will be responsible for: 

1. Monitoring the contexts, analyzing alerts, threats and different scenarios of situation evolution in order to define recommendations to enable the organization to adapt to the situation.  
2. Establishing safety rules and mobilizing the required resources, leading safety and security action plans to reduce the identified risks. 
3. Ensuring real-time communication on the security situation of missions, leading specific training according to needs, risk analysis workshops, raising staff awareness on safety, incident and crisis management. 
4. Updating and sharing security management documents. 
5. Participating in inter-NGO security coordination meetings, identifying sources of information, developing a network of contacts at national, regional and international level, and maintaining a network with local actors while developing our acceptance.
