As a major stakeholder in the humanitarian aid sector, Action Against Hunger pilots 20 field missions in various geographical environments with increasingly complex contexts.
In 2019, we invested in new resources to strengthen our capacity to deal with the constant changes in the various intervention contexts, in order to reach the most vulnerable populations and guarantee their access to the most essential services, in accordance with humanitarian principles.
Depending on whether you are based at headquarters or in the field, you will be responsible for:
You have held positions as Safety Manager during field missions and now wish to share your expertise with mission teams using a regional approach. You contribute to strengthening and developing Action Against Hunger France‘s intervention capacity by supporting the Regional Director of Operations in the contextual analysis and operational management of security. You supervise the mission security teams.
You have an appetite for knowledge transfer. You develop, propose and pilot the implementation of the capacity building strategy for headquarters and field teams managing security: you create training courses, individual coaching plans, develop training modules according to needs and conduct training courses. You contribute to the strengthening and developing of the security roster through your active participation in the recruitment of security and safety profiles, the development of networks, the identification of courses that can lead to security and safety professions.
Your field experience enables you to contribute to strengthening and developing Action Against Hunger’s capacity to operate in the field by helping to define and implement the humanitarian access strategy and operational security management. In collaboration with security and humanitarian advocacy actors, you support the field teams to strengthen and develop our acceptance and access strategies as well as their implementation, thanks to the development of negotiation capacities.
You are a security expert or have significant experience in managing programs in complex environments. You are able to propose analyses of the security context of the country of intervention, define and implement a humanitarian access strategy, consolidate a security management system in accordance with our policies, train teams in the various aspects of security and safety and manage incidents.
