The objective of the consultancy

The government of Nigeria has made some progress in implementing social protection programmes since 2004 – with the enactment of the Federal social protection strategy. This led to the rolling out of key social protection programmes leading to several breakthroughs over the past few years thus moving away from the inconsistent, small-scale, and adhoc programming a more sustained programmes like:

• Conditional cash transfer (CCT) for the most vulnerable
• The National Home Grown School Feeding (NHGSF) programme
• N-Power, a youth employment and job creation programme
• The Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP)
