Hunger is the greatest scandal of our age

Each year, more than 2 million children die due because of malnutrition, despite the existence of known, tested and feasible solutions. Although the world produces enough food for everyone, not everyone has enough food. This is why we have joined with a coalition of aid agencies to launch a major new campaign on hunger and malnutrition : Enough Food for Everyone IF.

Why now?

In 2013 our government has promised to increase life-saving aid to poor countries to 0.7% of national income. We have to hold them to this promise. In 2013 the UK is also chairing the G8 summit- bringing together leaders of the world’s richest countries. If we put them under enough pressure, G8 leaders can act to tackle hunger and its causes. It is a huge opportunity. We must take it.
