Testimony of Stéphane Biron, Administrator and coordinator in Sri Lanka, from March to November 2006.
What has happened will stay carved into my memory and my flesh, in every single detail. It is one of these scars that will never heal and that I do not want to close up. Each time I hear about Sri Lanka, despite all the good moments I lived there before August 4th 2006, and each time my job confronts me with absurd and unfair deaths, my heart trembles and tears come to my eyes.
The only thing I wish is for those who are here at this ceremony, families of the victims and ACF family, to share a serene moment. I wish you a ceremony made by the souvenirs of the kindness and professionalism of our 17 partners. May it be also empowered with your allied wills to fight against the impunity of war criminals. May it be conducted with the trust we have in the future.
I want to express my sincere and moved condolences to the family of our brothers and sisters.
