The legitimacy of an action inevitably rests on the care taken to operate it with clarity and rigour, particularly the financial side. In this regard, Action contre la Faim draws up a full balance sheet every year of its activities (activity report), as well as of the provenance and use of its resources (financial report).
The 2009 activity and financial reports, approved by the General Assembly of 12 June 2010, are available to all:

In 2009, among resources totalling 100 EUR, 82.6 EUR were used to finance our social missions

As an inestimable source of freedom of action, collecting our own funds carries its own cost (postage, calls, dispatch of tax receipts …).
From the manager based in France to the nurse in the field, effective action calls for solid organization binding together each link in the humanitarian chain. Our objective: get the most out of this investment.
• Action contre la Faim is a publicly-recognized association under the Law of 1901, a guarantee provided by the State Council. In this context, Action contre la Faim must submit annual accounts to the Home Office (Ministère de l’Intérieur) and the Foreign Ministry (Ministère des Affaires Etrangères).
• Action contre la Faim is a member of the Committee of the Ethical Charter of social and humanitarian organizations appealing to the generosity of the public. This monitoring body brings together French associations and foundations which all respect a series of ethnical principles as regards budgetary discipline and transparency of accounting.
• Every year independent auditors guarantee our management discipline and the transparency of our accounts, published annually.
• Large international funding institutions (ECHO, USAID) exercise permanent control over our accounts at HQ and in the field.
• Action contre la Faim may be audited at any time by the Government Accounting Office and IGAS (Inspection Générale des Affaires Sociales / General Inspectorate of Social Affairs), like any other body.
To be effective and recognized, a humanitarian organization never works in isolation. Action contre la Faim constructs its programmes independently.
It is supported by many institutions, agencies, both local and international :
• the European Union (39 % of the association’s resources), via ECHO (the Humanitarian Office of the European Community), « Food aid and security » and the Rehabilitation Fund
• USAID : United States Agency for International Development (15% of resources)
• the United Nations agencies (UNHCR, UNDP, UNICEF, WFP ...)
• the French government, via the Ministries of Cooperation, Foreign Affairs as well as the Humanitarian Action Section
• national cooperation agencies, notably European.
