
ECHO the humanitarian aid section of the European Commission, finances humanitarian activities in aid of people who are victims of natural and humanitarian disasters and of conflicts outside the European Union. Victims are provided with aid impartially without distinction as to race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, age, nationality or political affiliation.

Each year, the Cooperation Office of the European Commission provides over 7 billion euros in external aid to more than 150 countries and territories particularly through the construction of long-term partnerships.

The World Food Programme (WFP) is a United Nations agency created to combat hunger in the world. It currently has emergency aid and development projects in 80 countries.
Unicef, the United Nations Children’s Fund, is one of the agencies of the UNO. Its role is to ensure for every child health, education, equality and protection. Unicef operates in about 157 countries and territories and has representation in the industrialized countries through 37 national comittees.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization plays a role in international efforts to fight hunger. FAO helps developing countries and countries in transition to modernize and improve agricultural, forestry and halieutical policy, and to guarantee good nutrition for all.
The mandate of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, created by the United Nations General Assembly, is to coordinate international action for the protection of refugees and to seek solutions to the problems of refugees in the world. Its aim is to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of refugees.

The objectives of the cooperation for development and humanitarian aid of the Dutch government are to promote liberty, prosperity and the international rule of law.
The Development and Cooperation Directorate (DCD) is the agency in charge of international cooperation within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) in Switzerland. The DCD coordinates cooperation for development, cooperation with Eastern Europe and Swiss humanitarian aid with other offices of the Confederation.
In Canada, the International Development Agency (IDA) is the main organism responsible for humanitarian and development aid. Its mandate is to support sustainable development activities in developing countries in order to reduce poverty and to make the world safer, fairer and more prosperous.

The AECI is an autonomous entity attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation through the Secretariat of State for International Cooperation (SECI). The Agency is responsible for the elaboration, execution and management of developmental cooperation projects and programmes, either directly using its own resources, or in collaboration with other national and international entities and non-governmental organizations.
