We are looking for: A FOOD SECURITY AND LIVELIHOODS HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
Country: Myanmar – Yangon
Length of Contract: 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Technical support of on-going food security programmes
- Team technical capacity building
- Internal evaluation and capitalization
- Nationalization of the position (2 to 3 months)
- Programme development and technical strategy
Objectives:
- Define, monitor and support food security and livelihoods assessments and interventions
- Provide technical support to the Food Security programme managers and their teams
- Assist the Cd or DCD/P in the design and implementation of the country FS programme objectives and strategy
- Evaluate and build upon the community capacity building approach
- Conduct internal evaluations of ACF food security and livelihoods projects and capitalize the lessons learnt
- Ensure a good coordination with the other Heads of Department (Nutrition and WASH)
- Actively participate in FS technical meetings (Yangon/Nay Pi Taw levels), represent ACF
- Participate in the recruitment of a potential National HoD and coach the person for at least three months.
Qualification and previous experience: Engineer in agronomy/agroforestry/agriculture or Master on NRM/FSL/sustainable community based development with a proven track record as a FSL adviser / HoD or consultant as well as substantial experience as project manager or implementer of food security/agricultural projects. An experience in Myanmar/ South-East Asia is a clear advantage. Experience in training/coaching as well as in proposal writing is needed. English fluent is required. French is a plus.
